This position is located in the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General (DoD OIG). The incumbent of this position will work within the Office of the Deputy Inspector General of Investigations (DIG INV), Defense Criminal Investigative Service (DCIS), and Transnational Operations Field Office.
As an Administrative Officer, GS-0341-9/11, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Coordinates with the SAC (Special Agent in Charge) in developing materials used for formulating, justifying, and executing budgets and monitors expenditure of funds.
Participates in reviewing management analysis programs with a view towards developing improvements of major problem areas in administrative management.
Plans, develops, and maintains systems and procedures for personnel management activities.
Completes and/or reviews personnel action requests.
Serves as a point-of-contact for vendors and manufacturer representatives and makes recommendations for purchase of supplies.
Provides guidance to staff concerning policy and procedures for preparing and reviewing travel authorizations and vouchers.
Reviews and analyzes incoming correspondence.
25% or less – You may be expected to travel up to 25% for this position.

Position has been designated as Critical Sensitive; incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Top secret (TS) security clearance.
Incumbent is required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment and is subject to random drug testing for the duration of service with DoD OIG.
Current DoD civilian employees are not required to submit to drug testing if moving from one Testing Designated Position (TDP) to another with no break in service, unless deemed appropriate on a case-by-case basis.
If you have not previously completed a probationary period with the Federal government in a similar position, you will be required to serve a two-year probationary period.

You may qualify at the GS-09 level, if you fulfill one of the following qualification requirements:
A. Completion of a Graduate degree in a field of study that demonstrates the competencies required by this position with a degree in Management or Business; OR
B. One year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability to do the work related to the major duties and knowledge requirements of this position. Specialized experience is defined as having one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level grade level or pay band in the Federal service that includes being the focal point for all administrative management matters in the field office, resident agencies, and posts of duties, and performs the following functional management responsibilities in support the Special Agent in Charge (SAC): budget formulation and execution, financial management, personnel management, administrative policies and procedures, training and employee development, space design and allotment, property management, procurement, and the variety of day-to-day administrative services essential to office operations; OR
C. A combination of education and experience as listed above.
You may qualify at the GS-11 level, if you fulfill one of the following qualification requirements:
A. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M., if related in a field of study that demonstrates the competencies required by this position with a degree in Management or Business; OR
B. One year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates competence in administrative program management. Specialized experience is defined as having one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level grade level or pay band in the Federal service that includes being the focal point for all administrative management matters in the field office, resident agencies, and posts of duties, and performs the following functional management responsibilities in support the Special Agent in Charge (SAC): budget formulation and execution, financial management, personnel management, administrative policies and procedures, training and employee development, space design and allotment, property management, procurement, and the variety of day-to-day administrative services essential to office operations; OR
C. A combination of education and experience as listed above.
