High school diploma or equivalent and four years of bookkeeping or clerical accounting experience.
These are the job duties required of the position.
Counsels students and parents on the residence hall application, room change and room assignment process; communicates residence hall contract policies and procedures to students, parents and staff; coordinates residence hall room and meal plan assignments for all students living on campus; coordinates and processes room assignments, invoicing and payment for University faculty/staff and non-students for co-op, interns and University staff; counsels students and parents on any roommate problems prior to the student checking in; uses StarRez, housing software, to assign housing applicants to a room and a meal plan, assess the room and meal charge to the student account and verify the charges for accuracy; releases student housing deposits to the student account and verify for accuracy using Banner software system; processes room and meal change requests in StarRez and verify charges for accuracy; verifies and processes housing cancellations in the Banner and StarRez software system; charges cancellation fees and other housing charges, as necessary, to the student account; verifies charges for accuracy on the student account; verifies and processes residence hall charges and credits as received from the community offices; verifies and processes residence hall changes and credits as received from the community offices; verifies and assess Greek parlor fee charges to the student account; places and releases housing holds as necessary; verifies for accuracy all residence hall signature rosters and works with the community offices to correct as needed; assists the Associate Director with preparation of residence hall occupancy reports; assists Associate Director with room registration processes, application and residence hall occupancy reports and billing cycles; assist in organizing and working new student orientation sessions for housing and residence life; works closely with other University departments (ROTC, Athletics, etc) who request residence hall spaces for their students; creates ad sends housing information and correspondences to be mailed and emailed to students and parents; assists and communicates with students, parents and staff by phone, email and in person; assists with generating non-payment and non-enrollment communications to send to students; creates a spreadsheet listing of students who have initiated payment plans and financial aid deferments for Associate Director; monitors and follows up on with students to insure payments are made as indicated on the installment agreements; drafts, for approval, installment payment agreements for students with housing and/or meal plan balances; generates a monthly report of current residents who have not paid housing and/or meal plan charges; assesses charges and credits to student accounts in Banner and StarRez; audits and updates student accounts, records, and StarRez reports for accuracy; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required; related duties as required
