In this role, you’ll collaborate with several cross-functional teams to develop and support critical infrastructure that supports the University’s academic, research, and clinical missions. The ideal candidate will be a self-directed learner with a desire to understand the entire Linux ecosystem including various Linux distributions, Chef, Docker, Git, Jenkins. Experience and a desire to leverage Bash, PowerShell and/or other programming and scripting languages to automate and orchestrate IT resources will be key to success.

Design, configure, install, upgrade, and maintain Linux systems.
Automate processes using Bash or other scripting languages.
Coordinate within cross-functional teams to architect, support, and maintain Linux server ecosystem.

Provide advanced operational support. Serve as escalation resource and provide guidance to service desk staff and junior staff for resolving routine system issues.
Manage, configure, and design systems for monitoring system performance and availability.
Participate in on-call rotation, which involves carrying a communication device and includes the expectation to respond during non-business hours to resolve production problems and perform scheduled off-hour activities.
Keep current on industry standards, emerging technologies and services.
