Summary of Position:
Provide support across multiple functions in the Office of Alumni Relations, which requires the ability to prioritize multiple projects according to deadlines and the ability to exercise independent judgment. Main responsibilities will focus around alumni communication, engagement planning, volunteer management and data analytics.
The Office of Alumni Relations supports the College’s Office of Advancement and is responsible for the identification, cultivation, and engagement of College alumni and future alumni.
Specific Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with departments across campus to ensure that projects are completed according to deadlines, with accuracy, quality, and integrity. Including continuously compile, review and analyze project outcomes against established goals, objectives and timelines with team.
Assist in coordination of events to engage alumni and students.
Prepare materials for engagement activities, to include nametags, emails, invitations and letters.
Work collaboratively with Student Alumni Association and Annual Giving Officer to coordinate a student philanthropy program.
Provide assistance in tracking and analyzing alumni engagement efforts.
Manage alumni Instagram account to highlight programming, people and College mission. Including continuously compiling and reviewing analytics.
Coordinate efforts for the Distinguished Alumni Awards
Support efforts in development, preparation, and coordination of volunteer committee structures, meetings, preparation of materials, and other related activities.
Knowledge and Expertise:
Education & Experience
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
One to three years work experience with progressive responsibility in communication, development or higher education preferred.
Strong, accurate, production-oriented skills
Knowledge of AP Style and effective writing and editing skills for web and print
Experience working with the Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with Content Management Systems (Cascade and NXT preferred but not required)
Experience with Adobe Suite (to include Photosop & InDesign)
Experience with donor management software (Raiser’s Edge, NXT preferred but not required)
Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
Capable of handling multiple tasks and managing deadline
Good written and oral communication skills
Ability to handle confidential information
Customer service attitude to build rapport with alumni
Responsible and able to take initiative with little guidance
Candidate must have the capacity to perform in a rigorous academic environment. Candidate must be able to apply sound judgment in all situations and have excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail to successfully manage workload. Candidate must be able to work independently, take initiative, manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities. Ability to work outside the normal office hours of weekdays between 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
