This is a full-time, essential personnel position which offers 32-40 hours/week.
Here is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of a vulnerable population. Skils’kin is currently looking for an Accounts Payable/Representative Payee to join our Payee Services team.
The Accounts Payable/Representative Payee works in direct service of disabled clients and coordinates efforts to manage clients’ benefits and benefit eligibility with members of their support network at agencies throughout the local area. The ideal candidate is a highly organized individual with practical experience in accounting, accounts payable, bookkeeping, or banking, including use of Excel, Quicken, or other accounting and budgeting software. This person also has excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage and communicate with diverse populations.
In this position, you will assist vulnerable adults with their finances. Many of your clients are facing large financial barriers due to disabilities, chronic homelessness, substance abuse, or mental health issues.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Assume primary responsibility to provide support to clients in maintaining a financial program suited to meet their needs.
Coordinate with members of the clients support team, guardians, and any outside agencies necessary to ensure client funding is stable and financial needs are met.
Create and maintain monthly budgets for each assigned client ensuring current basic needs such as rent, utilities, food, transportation and personal needs are met.
Follow procedures for processing client payments for approval and disbursement.
Comply with reporting requirements.
Provide excellent customer service to clients.
High school diploma or GED is required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred. Extensive practical experience in accounting, accounts payable, bookkeeping, or banking, including use of Excel, Quicken, or other accounting and budgeting software may be substituted for education.
Must possess strong time-management skills, be well organized and dependable.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage and communicate with diverse populations. Empathetic, but firm, customer-service is a must.
Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
Previous knowledge of Social Security Administration and the responsibilities of a Representative Payee desired.
Must pass background check.

Compensation & Benefits
This is an hourly/non-exempt position with pay issued every two weeks. Work hours may vary depending on work assignments and schedule needs.
