Penn State Health is seeking a customer-focused and computer-savvy professional for a Support Associate, Student Health opportunity!
This is an extraordinary role for a strong communicator who is looking for a cohesive and collaborative environment offering the opportunity to work closely with medical students, residents, fellows, and their families.
The Support Associate is responsible for managing the operations of the Student Health Center, including: scheduling, ensuring provider coverage,checking in and out, resolving billing and insurance issues, processing and monitoring expenses, tracking student immunizations, and providing strong administrative support to the nurse and attending physician.
A versatile position within the department, the Support Associate will need to be flexible to change gears quickly. Some evening hours may be needed to ensure high levels of support and service. The individual selected for this critical role will be responsible for varied tasks, including providing student Financial Counselor assistance, patient advocate services, and purchasing supplies. This individual will perform tasks in various different software systems, including Cadence, Eclypsis, Care Connect and PowerChart, while working routinely with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Associates Degree or equivalent experience with 1-3 years of Medical Billing and Office Administration experience required.
Specialized skills to independently manage projects and carry out complex or sensitive/confidential assignments are required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with a diverse group of students and staff at various levels of the institution to include PSU, COM, and HMC staff are required.
Medical Office Associate certification and experience with Occupational Health Manager are preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Cadence, Eclipsys, Care Connect, PowerChart is preferred.
