Location: Manassas, VA
As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring uninterrupted supply of electrical service for the site. This is accomplished through continuous improvement and development of skills associated with the electrical trade. In this role, you will support the installation, removal, and repair of medium and low voltage equipment.
In addition to experienced electrical technicians, technically trained apprentices with AAS degree or Military technical training are encouraged to apply.
This new position will be at Micron’s Northern Virginia facility in Manassas, where Micron will invest $3 billion dollars to expand production. As part of the expansion, Micron will establish a global research and development center in Manassas for memory and storage solutions primarily focused on the automotive, industrial and networking markets.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Maintain Site Electrical Utilities and Systems
Maintain Motor Control Centers (MCC)
Maintain, repair, replace Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS)
Maintain, repair, replace Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)
Receive training and perform IR scans of equipment as scheduled or requested
Maintain Emergency Standby Generators
Experience in Medium Voltage Maintenance and Switching
Support Safety, Environmental, Health, and Security Standards (EHSS)
Achieve and maintain 100% completion of assigned EHSS training
Rigorously follow Lock Out procedures
Perform Job Hazard Analysis
Maintain Equipment and System Maintenance Records
Accurately schedule and track maintenance according to Factory Maintenance System
Review and update records relative to assets
Review and update spare parts inventory
Experience in drafting and revising procedures is a plus
Develop Technical Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Maintain VA state electrical license
Participate in provided vendor training
Learn and follow manufacturers’ recommendations
Develop skill in acceptance testing on new equipment
Participate in Total Productive Maintenance Program
Work with engineers to continuously improve equipment and maintenance methods
2 years experience in electrical maintenance
Associate Degree in Applied Science (AAS) in Electrical or Controls technology a plus
Must have the ability to obtain a VA Journeyman’s license within 1 year of employment
