Description of Duties:
The Material Planning Supervisor supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:
Provide oversight of the day to day material planning activities for the IRES contract, ensuring all efforts through the procurement lifecycle are accomplished from proposal BOMs to purchase request generation and to material delivery in order to acquire goods and services in a timely manner in support of the task orders.
Perform direct material planning services in support of task orders and also oversee a staff of approximately 5 material planners that report to them.
Review of staff workload and task order support needs and determine staffing needs and work assignments.
Develop and maintain a competent work force through recruitment, training, coaching and establishing goals and objectives.
Develop and maintain process documentation.
Plan and purchase materials for customer against their requirements in order to support on- time customer shipments.
Develop understanding of available vendors and typical estimates on material lead time, cost and delivery.
Assist in resolving vendor and/or buyer issues during the procurement and receiving phases.
Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 8 years of general experience; Associate’s degree and 6 years of general experience; Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of general experience; Master’s degree and 2 years of general experience.
Must have 4 years of directly related experience in planning and purchasing, and/or procurement.
Must have 2 years’ experience in management or leadership roles.
Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance or a DoD Interim Secret security clearance with ability to obtain a full Secret clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or equivalent.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software, with focus on advanced skills in Excel.
Experience with Remedy or Deltek Cost Point applications.
