We are currently looking for an experienced, full-time (30 hours a week) Accounting Specialist to assist our team located in our Colorado Springs office.
Manage AR/AP by completing client invoices and monitoring payment
Work with customers to resolve issues pertaining to invoices and collections
Proactively identify problematic accounts to senior management and work with a collection agency
Assist with developing and generating reports to monitor receivables
Adhere to collection and credit policy.
Reconcile specified general ledger accounts on a monthly and quarterly basis
Analyze problematic customer accounts for reconciliation and resolution
Interpret, analyze document and report issues and reconcile supplier accounts.
Ensure compliance with supplier dispute policy
Monitor overpayments and unapplied cash on account to identify appropriate resolution
Identify and process customer refunds as needed with approval
Identify and participate in process improvements to improve accounting functions
Conduct month and year-end closing procedures to ensure the accuracy of receivables
Prepare journal entries as needed
Other duties as assigned
Proficiency in Accounting software, Excel and Word
Experience in collecting receivables
Experience in performing account or customer reconciliations
Ability to take the initiative, to think out-of-the-box to resolve issues and identify opportunities
Well-organized, able to effectively manage multiple priorities
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with an ability to build relationships with all levels of management, field operations, and corporate business partners
Years of Relevant Experience
Minimum of two years of relevant experience
General Ledger experience required
