About this position:
Candidate would support the resolution of customer plant concerns by performing analysis of failed transmissions, transfers, rear differentials, and related component parts.
Install and removal of drivetrain components.
Perform in-vehicle and dyno testing to confirm problem symptoms.
Instrumentation of drivetrain components.
Utilize Controller Area Network (CAN) and Noise Vibration Harshness (NVH) data acquisition equipment and software to collect data related to the problem.
Evaluate CAN and NVH data to narrow down potential causes.
Disassembly and assembly of drivetrain components for analysis purposes.
Utilize proven problem solving techniques to identify and confirm problem cause.
Investigate manufacturing processes to identify potential causes.
Compile detailed analysis reports including warranty research, test results, CAN/NVH data analysis, disassembly observations, cause explanation and summary.
Collaborate with other departments to determine problem cause and resolution.
Reference technical drawings.
Support shipping and receiving of warranty drivetrain components.
Support other Market Quality department activity as needed.
Clean, organize, and pick up work area.
What you need to be successful in the role:
Strong desire to be hands on.
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Working knowledge of automotive electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems and components.
Ability to quickly and accurately create detailed analysis reports.
Efficient typing skills.
Working knowledge of standard Windows applications including Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Easily adapt to new data acquisition software.
Able to travel (international and domestic).
Ability to lift 40-lbs and work above your head.
Be reliable and dependable team member.
Required Work Experience:
No experience required if degree preference is met.
Associates degree in Automotive Technology or other Technical or Engineering Associates degrees with interest/experience in automotive drivetrain technology (Considered).
