Responsibilities include designing concepts to manufacturing of high performance internal combustion race engine-related components using CATIA V4/V5 and analyzing test results. Plan and complete engineer projects for race engine systems including complex part designs, & components, analyzing performance, assembly test results, durability & cost effectiveness of systems. Evaluate & implement design changes, specifications, drawing releases, analyze test engine simulation results & part assembly/manufacturing prototype processes. Mentors staff, reviews & validates designs of junior engineers. Collaborates w/ procurement team & suppliers for outsourcing of prototype parts, including design & manufacturing specifications.
Requires BS in Engg (mechanical, manufacturing, automated production, or elct’nic) & 60 mos exp as Engg (auto product design, combustion systems, or motorsports). Must have 24 months previous experience w/ design of cylinder heads, blocks or other internal combustion bottom end engine mechanics using CATIA (2&3-dimension CAD software including complex part designs, assemblies, drafting & surfacing.) Must have experience with designing for prototype machining, castings, or treatment processes. Multiple positions open.
