The Accountant participates in the operations of the Loan Fund Accounting area of the Finance Department, which provides Enterprise Community Loan Fund’s accounting and finance functions. This position is the primary team member involved in processing cash receipts and disbursements; updating the loan servicing and accounting systems; preparing invoices; and coordinating with internal staff, external borrowers, and other participants. Additionally, the Accountant will assist with the financial close tasks including account reconciliation and reporting. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, effective part of the Finance team. This position requires excellent organizational, analytical, automation, communication, and prioritization skills, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment. While completing their daily tasks, the candidate is also encouraged to provide insights and suggestions for processes improvements.
Process cash receipts and disbursements, including updating the loan servicing and accounting systems.Utilize uploads and DocuSign where applicable.
Maintain other loan level information in the loan servicing system (Precision LM) as needed.
Coordinate with operations staff in Loan Fund, providing support when requested and enlisting their assistance when necessary.
Communicate with external borrowers and other loan participants, providing information and requesting updates as needed.
Prepare other journal entries to update the accounting system as necessary.
Participate in the month end closing process, ensuring that the loan servicing system is current. Reconcile loans receivable information between the loan servicing and accounting systems.
Prepare reconciliations of loan related and other general ledger accounts monthly.
Prepare loans receivable invoices monthly, ensuring that all information is accurate before issuing.
Support loan servicing system upgrades and maintenance.
Prepare interim and year-end audit confirmations for loans receivable.
Provide support for Loan Fund’s Salesforce application.
Drive for efficiencies throughout the Finance team, embracing technology and looking for ways to automate processes and cross train employees.Maintain up to date documentation of processes and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent is required, CPA is preferred.
1 year of accounting experience is preferred.
Must possess strong financial, analytical, organizational, and quantitative skills, and ability to coordinate complex activities, prioritize conflicting demands and meet deadlines with quality, accurate work product.
Must be highly motivated, be able to work independently and possess strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
Incumbent is expected to demonstrate strong ethics, strong interpersonal and communication skills to represent the interests of Enterprise both within and outside the organization.
Strong automation skills, including proficiency in Microsoft products and accounting applications, expertise in loan servicing software a plus.
Experience with accounting systems preferred, experience with PeopleSoft/Workday a plus.
Able to work effectively both independently and in team environments.
