Job Summary This position is responsible for preparation and analysis of (i) Enterprise Community Asset Management (ECAM) and Conventional Equity (CE) operating results for financial reporting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (or other basis of reporting, e.g. tax basis, as necessary) to management, investors and regulatory agencies, (ii) budgeting, forecasting, and modeling and (iii) maintaining professional relationships and communication with internal stakeholders, investors, partners, third-parties, auditors and regulatory agencies. This position requires enthusiasm, excellent communication, collaboration, organizational, analytical, and computer skills, and the ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with minimal supervision.
Obtain appropriate understanding of the lines of business and organization structures necessary for the preparation and analysis of results and communications with our business partners, investors, partners and auditors.
Review, evaluate and summarize terms and conditions of operating and other agreements of assigned entities and ensure Enterprise enforces its rights and meets its obligations.
Prepare and maintain general ledgers, supporting schedules, journal entries, workpapers and analysis in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Prepare and review account reconciliations and rollforwards and maintain supporting current and permanent file documentation.
Manage the financial close process. Prepare/review and evaluate operating results, comparing to budget and prior period /year in support of internal controls and reporting to management. Prepare/review line of business financial statements and key performance indicators.
Partner with the line of business by providing information and analysis relevant to decision-making and enhancement of operating results, including the monitoring and evaluation of key metrics, performance indicators and risks
Manage or have working knowledge of the application of forecasting models (e.g. working capital, cost projection and fund models), including assumptions, data, calculations and methods with analysis of trends and projected results in support of managing operations (i.e. business decisions), investor reporting and financial reporting.
Manage contractual rights and obligations for line of business responsibilities.This includes managing billings and receivables, monitoring and analyzing activity, coordination with other members of Finance and other departments and researching and resolving issues
Manage Investor Services Fee set up, invoicing and collections process, as well as reporting and communication with business line stakeholders.
Interact with Enterprise staff, investors, and external auditors to provide accurate and timely financial information.
Support/manage requirements for GAAP and compliance audit and tax return processes for the Corporate and entity level audits and internal audits.
Design, implement and maintain policies and procedures and other relevant documentation in support of internal controls over financial reporting, ensuring that accounting procedures and related documentation are designed so that internal controls are effective and functioning.
Serve as collaborative member of the Enterprise team that challenges the status quo, strives for overall process improvements and leverages technology, working with other members of the team and organization, to make recommendations to improve business and communication processes to be more effective for the organization.
Proactively demonstrate leadership qualities such as collaboration, initiative, innovation, problem-solving, accountability, planning and setting goals, managing resources and personal and staff development.
The Assistant Controller will assist the Director in leading the department to meet the goals of the department and of the larger finance organization.
As applicable, direct and review staff work and promote growth.
Complete other duties and projects as assigned.
Supervise assigned staff, as applicable.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent is required; CPA and or advanced degree is preferred.
5-7 years accounting/finance experience or relevant experience required.
Must possess strong financial, analytical, organizational, and quantitative skills, and ability to coordinate complex activities, prioritize conflicting demands and meet deadlines with a quality, accurate work product.
Must be highly motivated, be able to work independently and possess strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
Incumbent is expected to demonstrate strong ethics, strong interpersonal and communication skills to represent the interests of Enterprise both within and outside the organization.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) is required.
Public accounting, real estate analysis/forecasting or partnership tax experience is preferred.
Excellent computer skills, particularly with Excel, are required.
Experience with Workday is desirable.
Ability to maintain a big picture focus while attending to detailed work and providing thorough documentation
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
Ability to work under stress/pressure.
Ability to work evening and weekend hours during peak periods.
