Dynetics, an employee-owned company, is seeking a talented Principle to help develop solutions to challenging acoustics problems for DoD applications and commercial products. The successful candidate will work closely with a highly technical multidisciplinary team consisting of scientists, engineers, and software developers. The candidate will be expected to develop and execute research plans and methodologies related to acoustic signal processing including digital beamforming, signal detection, tracking, and classification and mature these technologies to realized products through hardware development and demonstration.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, development and execution of research plans including literature review, algorithm development, support real-time implementation, test plan development, and data analysis, as well as briefing and report preparation, communicating progress/results to leadership and customers, and team leadership.
A minimum of an MS degree with 12 years of experience, or a PhD with 10 years of experience is required. Solid Matlab and/or Python programming skills are a must.
Applicants must have an advanced knowledge of and experience with acoustics and signal processing techniques, including signal detection/classification algorithms.
The ideal candidate would have experience with gunshot acoustic signals and associated algorithms for detection and descrimination.
Candidate must be a US citizen, and must be a resident of the Huntsville, AL area or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area.
Experience with acoustic signatures of UAS and other aircraft would be a plus. The candidate should enjoy working both independently and collaboratively with a small teams, and on multiple simultaneous projects.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
