About the Position:
This position is located at Tripler Army Medical Center, which is on the Island of Oahu, Hawaii. Oahu is the third largest island in the Hawaiian chain. It is home to about three-fourths of the state’s population. Honolulu is the state capitol and the 11th largest U.S. Metropolitan city. Waikiki, the most world-renowned site in Oahu, and is the top visitor destination of the state. The island is very geographically diverse with mountains, rainforests, volcanic craters, tropics, beaches and much more.
A cost of living allowance (COLA) of 10.99% is currently authorized; subject to change. Salary includes 18.43% locality pay.
Permanent Change of Station (PCS) is NOT authorized.
Relocation/Recruitment Incentives are NOT authorized.

Responsibilities
Prepare rooms prior to UVC disinfection by various methods, such as manual cleaning of assigned hospital clinic areas, removing live plants, opening drawers, and/or placing telephone handset facing up on the table for optimal UVC exposure.
Place UVC machine sensors in proper location based on tablet dosage reading to ensure proper disinfection.
Utilize an electronic tablet and/or paper logs to track UVC machine usage.

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
This position may require rotating shift work. To include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or expereince requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. General Experience: Three years progressively responsible experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level, which includes work that demonstrated the application of preventive and control measures to reduce the spread of bacteria and viruses. This definition of general experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
OR
Education: Four year course of study leading to a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or biological sciences, sanitary science or administration, institutional sanitation or administration, hospital administration, hotel administration, public administration, business administration, or other fields related to the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 36. Then divide your total number of completed undergraduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 120. Add the two percentages.
